CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY

Robotic Surgery is the use of an advanced minimally invasive device to blend the best advantages of minimally invasive surgery with all the options that come with an open procedure. Surgeries that used to require several days in the hospital can often be done with less days spent in the hospital if not as an outpatient procedure in which you go home the same day. In addition, smaller incisions are associated with significantly less pain and faster recovery to your normal routine.

The da Vinci platform by Intuitive Surgical https://www.intuitive.com/en-us/patients/da-vinci-robotic-surgery allows us to perform major surgery through small incisions. This is done by using advanced instruments that mimic our hand movements while providing enhanced 3D visualizations that simple laparoscopic procedures cannot provide.

As a nationally recognized observation site, surgeons around the country from prestigious hospitals like the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital have come to watch and learn robotic procedures from both Dr. Jandali and Dr. Badrudduja.

Both of our surgeons have travelled across the country teaching other surgeons these techniques, helping to mentor surgeons trying to improve what they can offer for their own patients.

FAQS

ROBOTIC SURGERY

What is a robot and who is doing the surgery?
The robot is a surgical instrument that has no independent function. Your surgeon is in control 100% and is in control of small instruments that allow your surgeon to provide precision surgery using small incisions is complete 3D visualization

Why robotic surgery?
Although robotic surgery is not possible for all procedures, our surgeons are leading the country in robotic surgery. They are able to perform complex surgery using small cuts which in turn means less pain and faster recovery to get you back to your normal routine.

What is robotic surgery and laparoscopic surgery and laser surgery?
Laser surgery was the earliest terminology that became well known many years ago to describe laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is surgery performed through small cuts but was limited by the instruments that can be utilized and the complexity of what can be performed. Robotic surgery is the latest evolution of laparoscopic surgery allowing extremely delicate and complex surgeries using incisions less than a third of an inch.
